Permit triggers and exempt work for Southport

Application process
Typical processing: Planning Board applications require at least 14 days prior to scheduled board meeting.
- 01 Contact the Building Inspector (via town office at 361 Hendricks Hill Road) to obtain a building permit application and determine whether Planning Board review is required.
- 02 Complete building permit application with all required information.
- 03 If Planning Board review is required: submit completed application to Building Inspector at least 14 days before a scheduled Planning Board meeting.
- 04 Planning Board considers only fully completed applications.
- 05 Building Permit card must be posted in plain sight at the job site as soon as issued.
- 06 No person shall engage in any activity or use of land or structure requiring a permit without first obtaining a permit (per Southport Land Use Ordinance).
