When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Boothbay
Zoning and land use permits required for construction, use changes, and development activities under the Zoning Ordinance. - 01 Contact the Code Enforcement / Zoning Office at (207) 633-2051 or dfeeney@townofboothbay.org to discuss project and determine requirements under the Zoning Ordinance.
- 02 Obtain applicable permit application (zoning, shoreland zoning, sign, etc.) from the office or website.
- 03 If Planning Board review is required, applications must be submitted at least 14 days prior to a scheduled Planning Board meeting.
- 04 Complete and submit application with required supporting documents.
- 05 Pay applicable fee per the Code Enforcement / Zoning Fee Schedule.
- 06 Permit issued (for uses permitted by right) or Planning Board approval obtained (for conditional uses).
- 07 Post permit at job site.
- 08 Schedule inspections as required under NFPA 101 or other applicable state standards.
