Application Process

  1. Review the Orange Building Ordinance.
  2. Download or request building permit application form from orangenh.us/forms.
  3. All plans (when available) should bear the seal of a licensed NH architect or engineer. Exception: home construction without plans - submit scale drawings of floor plans, sections, elevations, structural details, and plot plan as required.
  4. Obtain a State Highway Dept. permit if driveway or private road is off a state highway. Obtain a Town of Orange Road Agent permit if driveway is off a town road.
  5. Submit completed application to the Board of Selectmen with applicable fee.
  6. Selectmen and/or Building Inspector review for zoning and subdivision compliance.
  7. Permit issued. Begin construction only after permit is in hand.
