Permit triggers and exempt work for Starks
Building permit required for construction of any building or structure 150 square feet or larger (updated from 300 sq ft in 2024); recreational vehicles, campers, and yurts require permits if occupied more than 120 days per year.

Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final

- 02 Obtain forms from the website or at the Town Office.
- 03 Complete and submit building permit application with site plan and project details.
- 04 For plumbing permits, contact Leo Mayo at (207) 474-1575 by appointment.
- 05 Pay applicable fees.
- 06 Await CEO review and permit issuance.
- 07 Post permit on job site.
- 08 Schedule and complete required inspections.
- 09 Obtain Certificate of Occupancy.
