When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Anson
Building permit required for construction, enlargement, alteration, improvement, removal or demolition of any building or structure; ordinary repairs not involving structural elements are exempt. Follows Maine state default under Title 30-A §7060.

Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Contact the Anson Town Office at (207) 696-3979 or visit the Code Enforcement page.
- 02 Obtain permit application forms from the Town Office.
- 03 Complete application with required project information and site plan.
- 04 Submit and pay fees (in person or by mail to PO Box 297, Anson ME 04911).
- 05 The Regional CEO (Jeff Drew via KVCOG) will review the application.
- 06 Await approval and permit issuance.
- 07 Post permit on job site.
- 08 Schedule inspections through the Town Office or with Jeff Drew directly.
- 09 Obtain Certificate of Occupancy after final inspection.
