When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Smithfield
A Notice of Intent to Build is required before building or remodeling any structure; plumbing and shoreland permits (if applicable) must be obtained first. Permits expire one year from issuance unless substantial start (30% completion) is made.

- 02 Download or pick up the appropriate application (Intent to Build Form or building permit application).
- 03 Complete and submit with required site plan and project details.
- 04 Pay applicable fees.
- 05 Await CEO review and permit/approval issuance.
- 06 Post permit on job site.
- 07 Schedule and complete required inspections with Andy Marble.
- 08 Obtain Certificate of Occupancy.
