When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Dublin
New construction, additions, alterations, and trade work (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) require permits. Permits must be paid and issued prior to commencement of construction.
Note: Ohio Building Code Section 105.2 and Residential Code of Ohio Section R105.2 provide state minimum exemptions applicable in Dublin. Confirm additional local exemptions with Division of Building Standards at (614) 410-4670.

- 06 Pay permit fees (fees due after plan review, before issuance)
- 07 Permit is issued; work may not begin until permit is issued
- 08 Schedule required inspections through Accela portal
- 09 Complete all required inspections
- 10 Obtain certificate of occupancy or completion where required
