- 01 Contact the Code Enforcement Officer at (207) 435-2311 and schedule a pre-application meeting to determine what information is required for the specific project.
- 02 Download the Building/Demolition Permit application from the town website.
- 03 Prepare the complete application package: ownership documentation, sewage and water system information, scaled site plan/sketch (showing lot lines, setbacks, wells, septic, driveways, areas to be filled/graded), wetlands and drainage details, flood hazard information, building sketches/elevations.
- 04 If plumbing is involved, obtain a separate plumbing permit from the Plumbing Inspector concurrently.
- 05 If DEP permits or other agency decisions are required, obtain these as directed.
- 06 Submit the completed application and all attachments to the town office.
- 07 The CEO reviews and may approve, approve with conditions, deny, or refer to the Planning Board. If Planning Board review is required, submit through the CEO.
- 08 Pay applicable fees; permit is issued upon approval. Work may not begin until the permit is granted.
- 09 Permit becomes invalid if substantial construction has not begun within 12 months; may be renewed once with a renewal fee.
- 10 Schedule required inspections with the CEO.
