Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Obtain LUPC Building Permit Application at maine.gov/dacf/lupc or at the Plantation Office.
- 02 Review LUPC brochures on structure height, accessory structure standards, and setbacks.
- 03 Submit application electronically to ApplicationSubmissions.LUPC@maine.gov or by mail to 22 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333.
- 04 Accessory structures meeting LUPC standards: self-certification process (as of January 29, 2025).
- 05 Short-term rental: file notification with LUPC (required as of January 12, 2026).
- 06 The Plantation Assessing Agent will visit during the build to update property records.
- 07 LUPC Map Viewer and Franklin County Registry of Deeds are useful for pre-application research.
