Application Process

  6. For construction below 98 feet, obtain Army Corps of Engineers approval.
  7. If within 250 feet of Lake Champlain mean water level, obtain Vermont DEC Shoreland Protection Act permit or registration in parallel.
  8. Submit flood hazard permit application to town. Permit required before construction begins.
  9. Vermont ANR NFIP Coordinator review applies to substantial improvement and new construction in SFHA.
