When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Kingston Borough
Kingston states zoning permits are required before buildings, structures, signs, steps, decks, sheds, pools, fences, and replacement of these items; building permit categories on the borough form include demolition, decks, pools, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, repair, and changes in occupancy
Note: Kingston does not post a separate local permit-exemption list on its permit page. Pennsylvania UCC exemptions are the best published baseline, including small fences, low retaining walls without surcharge, shallow prefabricated pools, low uncovered decks, qualifying awnings, communications wiring, and ordinary repairs that do not affect structure, egress, or system relocations.
