Contractor requirements

Permit Center registers trade licenses and insurance. City note says Tulsa no longer registers journeymen, apprentices, or electrical sign contractors.

   Create or re-register a Self-Service Portal account using the same email address if you had an older account. City states users needed to re-register starting March 3, 2025.

   Submit the permit application, plans, and supporting documents online or at the Permit Center.

   Complete plan review comments and any professional license/insurance registration steps.

   Pay permit fees under the city's fee ordinance.

   Obtain permit issuance, schedule inspections, and complete final approvals. Tulsa also offers a one-business-day Residential Fast-Track interior remodel program by appointment for qualifying work.
