When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Alliance
All carports, decks, porches, patio enclosures, roofing projects, siding projects, and sheds 200 square feet and over require permits. Fences require zoning application but no building permit. Replacement windows and doors do not require a permit if the opening size stays the same. Permits are also required for residential construction and remodeling work.

- 07 Call at least 24 hours in advance to schedule inspections.
- 08 Complete required inspections before final approval or occupancy.
