When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Bainbridge
Building permits are required for any work that must conform to the NYS Uniform Building Code.

- Exempt Alterations that do not affect structural features, fire-safety features, electrical systems, or solid-fuel appliances and that cost less than $20,000

Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Confirm the project is in the Village of Bainbridge.
- 02 Obtain local village review and the required local compliance certification for the county application.
- 03 File the Chenango County building permit application with plans, plot plan, and insurance or exemption forms.
- 04 Submit any separate village permit forms that may apply, such as sign or street-opening permits.
