Application process

- 01 Call or visit the City of Springfield Building Department at 402-253-2204 to confirm permit requirements and obtain the applicable application form.
- 02 Two main permit application forms are available: Building Permit Application for New Residential construction; Building Permit Application for all other permits (non-new residential). A Grading Permit Application is also available.
- 03 Prepare required documents based on project type (see General Requirements below).
- 04 Submit completed application and documents in person at City Hall, 170 N 3rd Street, during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM).
- 05 Permit is reviewed and issued by city staff.
- 06 Schedule inspections by contacting the Sarpy County inspector George Reese at 402-593-2155 (building) or Richard Chladek at 402-253-2193 (electrical).
- 07 Receive final inspection upon completion.
