When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Jacksonville Beach
Jacksonville Beach's Building Division states it inspects structures within city limits and issues permits for construction regulated by state and local code. Any person who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, change occupancy, or materially change the use or appearance of a structure or land must register and maintain an active contractor record for permitting privileges.
Note: The Building Division page includes an FAQ entry for 'What type of work will I not need a permit for?' Use the city FAQ and permit filing requirements, or confirm directly with the Building Division before assuming work is exempt.
