When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Prairie Grove
Required for all new residential and commercial construction, major remodels, additions, roof replacements, porches, decks, swimming pools, sheds over 160 square feet, fences, shops, and garages.

Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Download or obtain the Building Permit Application and Residential Building Review Form from prairiegrovearkansas.org/forms or City Hall.
- 02 Complete the application. Residential requires the application and residential building review form. Commercial requires full plans for approval before issuance.
- 03 Submit application WITH payment to City Hall in person, by mail, or by scanning and emailing to pgfrontdesk@pgtc.com.
- 04 For emailed submissions, work may begin only after payment is accepted and confirmed.
- 05 Permit is issued upon approval.
- 06 Schedule and complete required inspections.
