When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Lincoln
Any owner of land in Lincoln must obtain a building permit before constructing, remodeling, altering, reroofing, or performing structural work on any building or structure.
- Exempt Portable buildings
- Application in duplicate with all required details (applicant name, mailing address, phone number, building type, location, outside dimensions, construction materials, proposed start date)
- Permit validity
- 90 days from date of issue. Permit becomes void if construction has not begun within 90 days, unless renewed.
- Owner-builder
- Owners may apply directly.
- Contractor requirements
- Arkansas state licensing applies. Contact City Hall for specifics.
Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Obtain a Building Permit Application from lincolnarkansas.com/forms or at City Hall.
- 02 Complete the application in duplicate, including: applicant name, mailing address, phone number, type of building, location, outside dimensions, construction materials for foundation/floor/exterior walls, proposed construction start date.
- 03 Submit duplicate copies to the Mayor or City Hall.
- 04 Await review and approval.
- 05 Permit issued; begin construction within 90 days of issuance.
