Town of Prescott Valley

Prescott Valley Town Code section 7-01-140 requires a permit for all buildings, structures, or building service equipment, including fences, retaining walls, fireplaces, wood stoves, and gas/electric/solid-fuel appliances.

• Exempt One-story detached accessory buildings up to 144 square feet for one- and two-family dwellings
• Exempt Masonry or concrete fences up to 4 feet in height
• Exempt Wood or other fences up to 6 feet in height
• Exempt Certain low retaining walls
• Exempt Oil derricks
• Exempt Some movable counters and partitions

Note: Exempt from building permit does not mean exempt from zoning requirements. Separate zoning permits can still be required.

Permit validity

Permit applications are deemed abandoned after 180 days unless pursued in good faith or a permit is issued. The building official may grant one written extension of up to 180 days.
