When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Prescott Valley
Prescott Valley Town Code section 7-01-140 requires a permit for all buildings, structures, or building service equipment, including fences, retaining walls, fireplaces, wood stoves, and gas/electric/solid-fuel appliances.
- Exempt One-story detached accessory buildings up to 144 square feet for one- and two-family dwellings
- Exempt Masonry or concrete fences up to 4 feet in height
- Exempt Wood or other fences up to 6 feet in height
- Exempt Certain low retaining walls
- Exempt Oil derricks
- Exempt Some movable counters and partitions
Note: Exempt from building permit does not mean exempt from zoning requirements. Separate zoning permits can still be required.
