When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Page
Any owner or authorized agent intending to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change occupancy of a building or structure, or to install or alter regulated electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing systems must apply to the building official and obtain the required permit.

- Exempt Retaining walls not over 4 feet high unless supporting a surcharge
- Exempt Sidewalks and driveways
- Exempt Finish work such as painting, papering, tiling, carpeting, cabinets, and countertops
- Exempt Prefabricated pools less than 24 inches deep
- Exempt Swings and other play equipment
- Exempt Certain window awnings
Note: In areas using septic systems, such as Ranchette Estates, the city may not issue a building permit before receiving county health approval. Verify all requirements before commencing design work.
