Permit triggers and exempt work for Wellsburg
A building permit is required for any improvement, repair, construction, demolition, excavation, remodeling, erection, or other work on premises within Wellsburg city limits.

- Contractor requirements
- No permit issued without either valid WV State Contractor License OR valid Wellsburg City Contractor Business License. Commercial projects exceeding $25,000 require contractor to provide certified list of all subcontractors or certified statement that no subcontractors will be hired.
