- Exempt Retaining walls under 4 feet in height (measured from bottom of footing)
- Exempt Platforms, walks, driveways under 18 inches above grade
- Exempt Roofing replacement on detached one- and two-family houses (if not changing building envelope)
- Exempt Painting, cleaning, insulating existing buildings
- Exempt Installing kitchen cabinets
- Exempt Decks under 18 inches above grade (Note: Seattle requires permit for decks over 18 inches)
