When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Mansfield
A building permit is required for all residential and commercial construction, additions, alterations affecting structural components, plumbing, mechanical, and gas installations, and demolition.

Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Download the Building Permit Application from the town website, or call (509) 683-1112 to have forms provided.
- 02 Complete the application and assemble supporting documents (site plan, construction drawings, energy compliance documentation).
- 03 Submit to the Town of Mansfield or directly to Blades Code Services as directed. Confirm submission process with the town office.
- 04 Plan review is conducted by Blades Code Services.
- 05 Permit is issued by Blades Code Services on behalf of the Town of Mansfield.
- 06 Inspections are conducted by Blades Code Services.
