Application Process

  1. Review the building permit packet applicable to your project type (residential or commercial) on the Building Department page or pick up a packet at the office.

Permit validity

  • One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage sheds, playhouses, and similar uses with a projected roof area not exceeding 120 square feet
  • Painting, papering, tiling, carpeting, cabinets, counter tops, and similar finish work
  • Temporary motion picture, TV, and theater stage sets and scenery
  • Window awnings supported by an exterior wall that do not project more than 54 inches from the exterior wall and do not require additional support
  • Prefabricated swimming pools accessory to a single-family dwelling, above-grade, if the pool volume is not greater than 5,000 gallons and is less than 24 inches deep
