When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Rockdale
A building permit application must be submitted and approved before construction begins. No building or structure may be constructed, erected, altered, moved, or placed within Rockdale unless all applicable permits have first been issued, and no site clearance, excavation, grading, or land fill may commence without applicable permits.

The contractor requirements page lists a $75 annual registration fee, company contact information, a copy of the professional license, required bond, and liability insurance naming the City of Rockdale as an additional insured. Plumbers, electricians, and AC/mechanical contractors must register, but their local registration fee is waived.
