Permit triggers and exempt work for Sour Lake

Application process

- 01 Go to the city permitting page and choose the Residential, Commercial, or Repair/Alteration permit application.
- 02 Complete applicant, property, zoning district, and construction details.
- 03 Submit one full copy of plans and specifications, plus any required attachments such as modular-home insignia, HUD certificate for manufactured homes, or floodplain materials.
- 04 Include the required contractor and inspector information. Residential applications ask for licensed HVAC, electrical, and plumbing contractors and an energy inspector with certification number.
- 05 The application is reviewed by the city manager and a city official. The city reserves the right to request additional review by the planning and zoning commission.
- 06 After approval or conditional approval, build in strict compliance with permit conditions and call for required inspections.
