Permit triggers and exempt work for Meadowlakes
Meadowlakes states permits are required for remodels, fences, decks, patio covers, arbors, playscapes, flatwork, boat docks, pools/spas, roofs, irrigation, hot water heaters, trailers/dumpsters, outside improvements involving plumbing or electrical work, and additions or remodeling.

Application process
Typical processing: Dependent on Building Committee meeting cycle; plans must be in 14 business days before the next meeting.
- 01 Submit plans at least 14 business days before the next regularly scheduled Building Committee meeting, which is held the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
- 02 Submit three sets of plans and specifications plus a digital copy emailed to the City Secretary.
- 03 If the project is in the 100-year floodplain, obtain a floodplain development permit before Building Committee review.
- 04 Attend the Building Committee meeting if possible to answer questions.
- 05 Pay the Meadowlakes fee at plan submission and the remaining permit fees after approval.
- 06 Do not begin work until the permit is paid and in the possession of the owner or contractor.
- 07 Request inspections through the City Secretary; ATS Engineers performs inspections.
- 08 Obtain final inspection and certificate of occupancy before occupancy or furniture placement.

Meadowlakes fee is due at plan submission. New construction also requires separate POA heavy road use impact fee and utility tap fees before permit issuance.
