When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Harrisburg
Permits are required for electrical and plumbing replacements, any work exceeding $1,000, roofing, fences, sheds, decks, replacement windows and doors, structural work, mechanical installations, additions and alterations, solar, pool and spa work, retaining walls 4 feet or higher, change of use/occupancy, signs, demolition, and new buildings/structures.
- Exempt Emergency repairs or replacement of equipment may be done before permit issuance if the application is submitted within 3 business days.
