When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Wyomissing
UCC permit required before construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, movement, demolition, or change in occupancy of residential or commercial buildings; for regulated electrical, gas, mechanical, and plumbing systems; for pools, hot tubs, and spas; for detached structures over 1,000 square feet; and before occupancy where a UCC certificate of occupancy is required. - Exempt Installation of additional roll or batt insulation
- Exempt Minor listed electrical, gas, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC work per the borough's UCC exemptions handout
Note: Fences no more than 6 feet high, retaining walls not over 4 feet high, sidewalks and driveways 30 inches or less above grade, prefabricated swimming pools less than 24 inches deep, and uncovered decks no more than 30 inches above grade still require a Miscellaneous Permit.
