• Exempt Accessory buildings under 144 square feet

Note: Accessory buildings under 144 square feet do not require a building permit, but must still meet zoning-setback requirements. Projects not requiring a building permit must still comply with zoning rules. All land-use activities defined in the zoning ordinance that require a permit require site-plan review and approval before being undertaken.

   Download building permit application and supporting forms from the BCPZ page.

   Complete the application with all required information and documentation.

   Electronic submittal is preferred.

   Submit application to the town with permit fee.

   Do not submit portal payment until the permit number and fee amount have been verified.

   Once completed and fees are paid, a permit is issued.

   Schedule inspections on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 8:00 am-4:00 pm.

   After final inspection, the town issues a certificate of occupancy or certificate of compliance.
