When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Groton
Anytime you remodel a room or install a storage shed, you need to apply for a building permit. A new roof requires a permit because any construction, enlargement, alteration, addition, improvement, removal, or demolition requires a permit.
Note: Confirm specific exemptions with the Code Enforcement Office. See village codes section 101-6.
