When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Tucumcari
A permit is required within City of Tucumcari limits for all new construction, additions, structural alterations, demolition, changes of use or occupancy, and installation or extension of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Additionally, city zoning approval and site plan review are required for any land use change and new development. - 06 Submit the completed application with the city sign-offs and required documents to the Community Development office at 512 S. 8th Street. Pay all applicable fees at submission.
- 07 Community Development forwards the application to NM CID for building permit issuance, or advises on the direct submission path to the CID district office if applicable.
- 08 CID reviews plans for state code compliance and issues the building permit.
