Application Process

  1. Contact the Land Use Office at 603-286-4521 (ext. 105 or 106) to determine whether a building permit is required for the proposed project.
  2. Obtain the building permit application form from the Land Use Office in person or from the town website at http://www.tiltonnh.org/content/landuse.html.
  3. Prepare required documents including a completed application, construction plans, and a site/plot plan showing property lines, setbacks, existing structures, utilities, septic, and well.
  4. Submit the application in person or by mail to 257 Main Street during business hours.
  5. The Code Enforcement Officer / Building Inspector reviews the application for compliance with Tilton Zoning Regulations (updated March 16, 2024) and applicable NH State Building Code.
  6. Permit issued upon approval. Post permit on site.
  7. Schedule required inspections by contacting the Land Use Office.
