Oakview's permit page states no work should begin until the required occupational-license and permit process is complete; building, sign, and electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and excavation work each have specific applications.

Contractor requirements

Contracted labor must submit an Occupational License Application for each hired company and any required insurance or licensing credentials.

   Before any work begins, the business or permit applicant submits an Occupational License Application to the city clerk.

   The board of trustees reviews the application at the next board meeting; representation at the meeting is recommended.

   If the board requests more information, the applicant answers questions and resubmits for the next meeting if needed.

   After board approval, fees are paid through the city clerk in person or by phone and credit card.

   For building work, sign work, or electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or excavation work, submit the corresponding permit application and plans.

   After local approval and payment, the city clerk sends plans to the county inspector for review and coordinates any other inspections.
7. 07
   Provide copies of inspection reports back to Oakview and reimburse any inspection costs billed to the village within 30 days of invoice payment.
