A building permit is required for new construction of residential or commercial structures, additions and alterations beyond minor cosmetic work, electrical/plumbing/mechanical/gas work, manufactured/mobile home placement, and demolition.

• Exempt Minor cosmetic work may not require a permit; confirm with Town Hall.

Note: Given Sledge's very small size and limited office hours, permit administration may be coordinated with or referred to Quitman County Code Enforcement (Jonathan Dancy, (662) 326-3522). Confirm current procedures with Town Hall.

Building code
