Permit triggers and exempt work for Aberdeen
A building permit is required for all construction within the City of Aberdeen.

- MSBOC license required for commercial projects over $50,000 and residential new construction over $50,000.
Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Download the Building Permit Application from cityofaberdeenms.com/forms or pick up in person at City Hall.
- 02 Prepare required documents: completed application, site plan, construction drawings, contractor license documentation.
- 03 Submit application and documents to the City Inspector at (662) 813-3493 or the Community Development Department at 123 S. Lincoln Street.
- 04 Pay applicable permit fees at City Hall (125 W. Commerce St., Aberdeen, MS 39730).
- 05 Await plan review and approval from the City Inspector.
- 06 Schedule required inspections through the City Inspector's office at (662) 813-3493.
- 07 Obtain a Certificate of Occupancy upon passing final inspection.
