When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Carencro
All development in the city needs local and state permits. Permits are required for residential and commercial building work, signs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, movable homes, modular homes, and land clearing.
Note: No consolidated exempt-work list was clearly posted on the reviewed Carencro public permit pages. Because Carencro states all development requires local and state permits, applicants should verify any claimed minor-work exemption with the Planning Department at (337) 896-7971 or (337) 896-8481 before starting work.
