When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Corbin
Permits are required for residential dwellings, manufactured/mobile homes, accessory structures, signs, pools, additions, demolitions, commercial/industrial/institutional buildings, structures other than buildings, parking lots, and ponds.

- Owner-builder
- Owner/builders are responsible for calling inspections at the appropriate stages.
- Contractor requirements
- The department enforces the Uniform Kentucky Building Code, and plumbing, electrical, and HVAC permits must come from the respective trade departments.
