When a permit is required
Permit triggers and exempt work for Park City
Every new structure, alteration, or change of use needs a permit before work begins (Park City Ordinance §16.1).

Note: Park City Ordinance §14.17.1 lists no building permit requirements for local public utilities, public streets/traffic control, horticulture/landscaping, and agricultural buildings other than dwellings. Other exemptions follow the Kentucky Residential Code.

- 01 Do not begin construction, relocation, alteration, or change of use until the Building Inspector grants a permit (Park City Ordinance §16.1).
- 02 Submit a scaled plan with lot dimensions, structure footprints, uses, and yard depths to obtain the certificate of zoning compliance before requesting a permit (Park City Ordinance §16.1.1).
- 03 Zoning certificates are approved if the project conforms to the ordinance and adopted building code; the Zoning Administrator must act within ten working days and provide written refusals when necessary (§16.1.1A-E).
- 04 File the approved certificate and building plans with the Glasgow/Barren County Building Inspector through Cloudpermit or at the office, paying plan review fees and any additional JCCPC fees (maximum aggregate building permit fee of $2,500 per the JCCPC fee schedule).
- 05 Schedule inspections by calling (270) 651-3921; final inspection must be completed within five days of the notification that the structure is ready for occupancy (§16.2.2).
