Approvals are required before construction, excavation, installation, structural improvements, work within public property, or activity impacting regulated structures. Examples include new construction, structural alterations, additions, decks, accessory structures, utility installation or relocation, excavation, street cuts, sidewalk, driveway, curb work, and work in streets, alleys, or easements.

Owner-builder

The form allows contractor information or other applicant information but does not post separate owner-builder rules.

Contractor requirements

The building permit form asks for electrician certification number; the permit hub says proof of insurance and bonding must be provided if required.

   Review the Permits and Development Hub for the correct permit type.

   Download the building permit or right-of-way permit form.
3. 03
   Prepare supporting documentation including site plans, specifications, traffic control plans when applicable, and proof of insurance and bonding if required.

   Submit the completed application to the Town Office in person or by mail with applicable fees.

   Wait for written approval from the town before starting work. The building permit form shows issuance or denial by the Building Inspector and/or Town Council.
6. 06
   Complete any required utility or plot plan signoffs shown on the form.
