Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Confirm zoning and land-use compliance first. Thomaston's permit checklist says the owner should verify zoning before applying for construction, and the Planning and Zoning page publishes zoning applications and verification forms.
- 02 Create a Cloudpermit account for online permitting, or use the city's published in-person permit applications if filing outside the portal.
- 03 Submit the permit application with supporting plans and construction documents. The city's checklist says applications go to permits@cityofthomaston.com for email-based submittals and shows the online or in-person application path.
- 04 City staff or the city's contracted review provider performs plan review. The checklist states denied plans are returned with comments by email and revised plans must be resubmitted.
- 05 After plan approval, pay permit fees. The checklist states fees are paid after plans are approved.
- 06 Permit is issued and the approved plans and permit must remain on site during construction.
- 07 Request inspections through Cloudpermit. The city states inspections should be requested via Cloudpermit, with Building Safety Office contact as a fallback if needed.
