Permit triggers and exempt work for Jasper
Jasper cites Article IV, Building Permits and Certificates, stating that any owner, authorized agent, or contractor who wants to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change occupancy of a building or regulated electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing system must first apply for and obtain the required permit.

- 02 Assemble the required packet: completed permit application, three paper and one digital plan set, land disturbance permit and erosion control affidavit, contractor business/state/driver license documents, Georgia authorized agent form if needed, notarized landowner affidavit, and homeowner responsibility form plus photo ID if the owner/occupant acts as contractor
- 03 Submit the application to City Hall or fax it to 706-692-2126. Permit applications must be delivered to City Hall unless faxed.
- 04 Wait for review. Permit fee is calculated during review and is due after review. If denied, comments are sent for resubmittal.
- 05 After issuance, schedule inspections at least two days in advance and keep the job moving through the required inspection sequence until final and certificate of occupancy
