Application process
Application → plan check → issuance → inspection → final
- 01 Contact the Dodge County Building Inspector or county office to request the current building-permit application and submission instructions; no public application form was located.
- 02 If the structure will use a sewage disposal system, obtain a permit from the Dodge County Health Department before the county will issue the building permit.
- 03 If the project is within 3 miles of the Heart of Georgia Regional Airport, submit FAA Form 7460-1 before seeking the county permit; between 3 and 5 miles, FAA filing is required if the structure exceeds 200 feet in height.
- 04 Submit the materials requested by the county and pay the posted permit fee.
- 05 Do not begin work until the county issues the permit; the airport ordinance states a Dodge County building permit is still required even beyond 5 miles from the airport.
