Permit triggers and exempt work for Dacono
Dacono lists re-roofs, decks, fireplaces, most demolition, basement finishes and remodels, electrical alterations, fences, pools or hot tubs, kitchen or bathroom remodels, room additions, gas conversion of electric stoves, and replacement or installation of heating, cooling, or water-heating equipment as permit-triggering work.

Application process

- 02 Register in Community Core as a contractor or community member, depending on applicant status.
- 03 Contractors complete city licensing or registration, and electricians also complete the electrician registration form.
- 04 Submit the permit application, plans, and supporting documents through Community Core, while routing any required fire district or sanitation district materials directly to those agencies when applicable.
- 05 Pay plan review and permit fees through the city process.
- 06 Receive the permit and keep approved documents available for inspections.
- 07 Request inspections through the Building Division and SAFEbuilt inspection process until final approval.
