The current city application packet says Corcoran enforces California Title 24 Building Codes, California Uniform Housing Code, California Energy Standards, and local regulations. However, the online codified Title 9 still shows a 2002 adoption referencing the 2001 California Building Code, so applicants should verify the currently enforced code edition with the Building Official.

Permit validity

The posted application states the application expires 180 days from the date received unless a building permit has been issued. A current city source stating the post-issuance permit expiration period was not identified in the reviewed materials.

Contractor requirements

The application requires the contractor's California license number and expiration date. It also states contractors must have a valid City of Corcoran business license and current liability insurance and workers' compensation documentation on file before permit issuance.

Scheduling deadline

Requests must be received by 7:00 AM on the inspection day; later requests roll to the next inspection day.

Time windows

Inspections are performed Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM and between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Special Friday inspections require Building Official approval.
