Permit triggers and exempt work for Holtville
The city states a building permit is required to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure within Holtville. The infographic also specifically calls out solar panels, residential roof coverings, pools and spas, porches, awnings, canopies, carports, exterior door and window replacement, and storage sheds or similar accessory structures over 10 x 10 feet.

Note: The city infographic says permits are still required for structural additions and alterations and for trade work including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and heating and cooling installation, alteration, or repair.
