Permit triggers and exempt work for Sierra Vista

- Sierra Vista uses the 2018 International Building Code, 2018 International Existing Building Code, 2018 International Residential Code, 2018 International Plumbing Code, 2018 International Mechanical Code, 2018 International Fuel Gas Code, 2018 International Fire Code, 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, 2017 National Electrical Code, 2012 IECC for commercial construction, 2006 IECC for residential construction, and local amendments adopted under Resolution 2023-043.

- Permit applications are deemed abandoned after 180 days unless pursued in good faith or extended by the building official.

Effective 2025-07-01
As of July 1, 2025, development and impact fees are no longer applied for new construction in Sierra Vista. Selected published fees: additional plan review $75 per hour; after-hours inspections $75 per hour with 2-hour minimum; residential reroofing $100; water heater replacement $25; service-entry replacement $50; shed under 200 square feet $25; residential solar $25; residential solar with battery systems $100; manufactured home installation $360.
