- Sidewalks and driveways within the stated elevation limits
- Painting, papering, tiling, carpeting, and similar finish work
- Certain prefabricated shallow above-ground pools and other minor accessory items
- Window awnings in limited configurations
- Non-fixed fixtures and partitions up to 5 feet 9 inches in certain contexts
- Some limited low-impact grading configurations under the code appendix standards
