- Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plans as applicable
- Energy calculations and structural calculations where required

Fees
- Plan check fee
- Plan check is billed as part of the building permit package and is required before plan review starts.

- Reinspection fee
- Compliance inspections and reinspections are listed in the fee schedule at about $399 for the FY 2025-26 inspections line item.
- Penalty (no permit)
- Reinspections may trigger additional fees when correction work is incomplete.
- Payment note
- Plan check fees are due before review, and the city provides an online payment option through its payment portal.

Work That Does NOT Require a Permit
- Seasonal sale of pumpkins and Christmas trees does not require a building or fire permit per city standard
- Permanent signs generally require a sign permit and still require building permit compliance for installation
Important: Exemptions are narrow and project-specific. Ancillary uses within an otherwise exempt seasonal sales lot, such as tents, canopies, or fuel storage, may still require permits. Confirm edge cases with the Building Division before starting.
