Application Process

General Requirements
The Building Division reviews building permit applications for compliance with state and local building codes for structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and energy work. The permit application form is used for new work, additions, alterations, repairs, replacements, demolition, grading, tenant improvements, fire sprinkler and fire alarm work, and related building trades.

- The application packet requires either owner, California licensed contractor, or authorized agent status. The contractor declaration requires the contractor to affirm licensure under the Contractors State License Law and provide license number, class, and expiration.
